Expo is incredible. It makes me realize how blessed I am to be a part of this theater family and it makes me want to bring so many more people from home next year!

EXPO Attendee

Keynote Speaker

Meet Amanda Jane Cooper!
Amanda grew up just outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She holds a BFA in Acting/Musical Theatre from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where she landed her first film roles in Smart People opposite Ellen Page and Thomas Haden Church, and in Homecoming with Mischa Barton.

After graduating, she made her New York theatre debut in BUNKED! A NEW MUSICAL followed by the play LETTER FROM ALGERIA. Amanda then starred as Glinda in WICKED (National Tour) for most of 2011, floating by bubble across the country and even performing for First Lady Michelle Obama during the show's 10-week run at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. She then moved to Los Angeles where she landed guest star and recurring roles on GleeBonesCSI: Crime Scene Investigation,  Jessie (Disney) and more. Films include CavemenSuturesDays Like This & more. She's also written original songs for, produced, and starred in two one-woman cabarets at Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Angeles.
For 16 months from December, 2015 to March, 2017, Amanda reprised her role as Glinda in the National Tour of WICKED, visiting over 20 cities for 500 performances for over a million people! Her interpretation of the role garnered praise from critics around the country.

On July 31st, 2017 she made her Broadway debut starring as Glinda in WICKED. Currently, you can find her bubbling up at the Gerswhin in NYC. Amanda is grateful to her team at BRS/Gage & Primary Wave, Stephen Schwartz, Craig Burns, Joan Lader, her family and God.

Morning Devotions

Meet our Morning Devotional Speaker, Eric Treuil!
Eric grew up on the West Bank of New Orleans - but it wasn't until he was a junior at Nicholls State University, as a theatre major, that he came to full faith in Jesus Christ. His dramatic conversion was catapulted as a result of staring in a play called The Shadow Box which dealt with the subject of death and dying. Shortly after becoming a Christian he helped pioneer a campus ministry called Chi Alpha at the university. Upon graduation he believed that God was calling him to stay and work full time with Chi Alpha. He met a wonderful Panamanian girl (Anabelle Elisa Garcia) – and they were married in 1985. They moved to Lafayette, LA in 1987 to re-pioneer Chi Alpha at the University of Louisiana and served as lead pastors until 2018. They have three adult children: Ana Cristina, Victoria Isabelle, and Benjamin Andrew. Family hobbies include traveling and eating out - they are anti-chain restaurant and enjoy the more ethnic cuisines the most!

Eric & Anabelle currently serve as executive directors of UL Chi Alpha. In addition they oversee the Internship Program (Diversity Project) and all of Chi Alpha in Louisiana and the South Central Area (Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and New Mexico). Eric directs the athletic outreach Cajuns 4 Christ and also serves as Chaplin for the Ragin Cajun Football Team.

EXPO Rules for Students
Branch Leaders may choose to implement additional rules, but we ask that these be recognized by all students at EXPO.
  • 11pm nightly curfew. For safety reasons and as a courtesy to other hotel guests, we ask that students be in their hotel rooms by 11pm.
  • No boys and girls in hotel rooms without adult present.
  • Must follow the EXPO schedule and attend all events. If students are not going to be attending a scheduled EXPO event, they must be with their parent chaperone (there is plenty of free time at this year’s EXPO, so please do not plan your “pool time” during scheduled events)
  • We are requiring ALL students and leaders to agree to a CYT EXPO Code of Conduct upon registration. We ask that leaders and parent/chaperones help implement these standards for the safety and fun of the group. Be sure to review the code of conduct prior to arriving at EXPO.

What’s Provided?
With your Leadership or Student registration comes lunch on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

What if I Have Dietary Needs?

If you are registering for someone other than yourself, please be sure to mark their food needs. Any dietary needs outside of vegetarian and gluten free will have to be managed by the attendee (such as food allergies, etc.).
