Phase 1 — Exploration & Alignment

Purpose:
To confirm mission fit, leadership readiness, and initial viability.
In this phase you will:
  • Learn about CYT’s mission, values, and expectations
  • Attend a Discovery Call with CYT National
  • Complete the Branch Startup Application
  • Draft an initial vision statement for your community
  • Create a preliminary financial sustainability outline
  • Identify a draft steering committee
  • Complete founder background checks and safety training
  • Submit a $300 application fee
Outcome:
Approved applicants receive a Provisional Startup License and move into Formation.

Phase 2 — Formation

Purpose:
To build the legal, financial, and leadership foundation of your branch.
In this phase you will:
  • Form a local steering committee
  • Begin community fundraising
  • Engage a local attorney
  • Incorporate as a nonprofit organization
  • Draft bylaws and board structure
  • Recruit initial board members
  • Identify key artistic and volunteer leaders
  • Sign the CYT License Agreement
  • Submit the $3,600 first-year license fee
  • Receive the CYT Brand Book and Operating Manual
Outcome:
Your branch becomes an Official CYT Licensed Organization.

Phase 3 — Training & Mentorship

Purpose:
To equip your team with proven systems, tools, and relationships.
In this phase you will:
  • Attend CYT Startup Training Sessions
  • Partner with a Mentor CYT Branch
  • Visit a host branch for hands-on observation
  • Attend National Leadership Conference or CYT EXPO
  • Complete program planning templates
  • Begin building your local program calendar
Outcome:
Authorization to begin launch preparations.

Phase 4 — Launch Preparation

Purpose:
To finalize logistics and prepare for public programming.
In this phase you will:
  • Secure facilities for classes and productions
  • Obtain required insurance
  • Build your branch website
  • Plan your first summer camp session
  • Open student registration
Outcome:
Public Launch Approval — your branch opens to the community.

Phase 5 — Ongoing Support

Purpose:
To ensure long-term branch health and sustainability.
Ongoing support includes:
  • Monthly Branch Support Calls
  • Mentor Branch coaching
  • Direct access to CYT National staff
  • Annual Branch Health & Safety Assessment
  • Leadership development opportunities
  • National resource sharing and training
