CYT offers young people an opportunity to learn, to develop their talents, to interact with friends and to be positive members of their community while keeping busy.

Every session (fall, winter and spring) CYT offers theater arts classes for children as an after-school activity. Each local branch conducts three 10-week sessions throughout the school year, limited to 22 students by experienced teachers, performers and professionals many of whom began their careers as CYT students.

Classes are held once a week for 2 hours in 9 areas in San Diego County and Temecula Valley in Riverside County. Classes include but are not limited to:

• Accents and dialects
• Dance
• Drama
• Makeup
• Set building
• Voice
• Stunts and special effects

Enrolled students have the opportunity to work behind the scenes. They may also audition for a CYT Tour Group, a traveling musical review, and for a CYT Broadway-style musical.
