Teacher Bios:
Linda Wolfe has been teaching for CYT since 1990.Linda studied theatre and speech at Grossmont College. She has performed with various community theatres around town and also had the opportunity to train and perform with the Old Globe Theatre MFA program in a Restoration Comedy. Linda was the Youth League Director as well as training and performing with San Diego TheatreSports for 2 1/2 years. Linda enjoys teaching and directing for CYT and has 3 children of her own who participate. Her husband is now enjoying microwave and crock pot meals. Linda has taught a wide variety of classes for CYT, her favorite being Improv!
Emily Ring is a CYT Alumni with over 5 years of shows and classes under her belt. She has spent the past 2 years as the teacher's aide for Actor's Unlimited and is now becoming the teacher of the class in SDC. Apart from CYT, she is a student at Grossmont Community College, hoping to pursue a career in special education.
Paul Plunk has been involved in CYT and CCT for 12 years. He has a BA in music from Baptist Bible College and has found a niche in Community Theatre. "My love for the dramatic started in the 80s when I was involved in several church dramas. To be able to use my music to influence young people in Musical Theatre, is very satisfying." He has musical directed and accompanied several shows for CYT over the last decade. One important goal is to show young people that you can be a person of Christian Values and still be influencial in Theatre.
Tammi Waitley has been teaching children since 1982. She has taught preschool all the way up to high school theatre classes. She has also been the musical director of the 'King's Kids' Performing group, based out of Mission Valley Christian Fellowship for the past twelve years. In 2006, Tammi begain teaching for CYT. She especially enjoys teaching Our Gang and Our Gang Two! Tammi is married to husband Darren, and has four children ages 4 to 16, all of whom are involved in CYT. When not driving kids to rehearsals or shows, or teaching classes, Tammi loves the beach! She enjoys surfing or just walking down the beach in any kind of weather!
Jason Gastrich is a musician, music instructor, and the director of San Diego Music Lessons. He teaches keyboard/piano, bass guitar, electric guitar, and acoustic guitar in private lessons. Jason has played a variety of instruments for over 25 years and he is married with a 5 year old daughter.
Jason has led different groups and taught many students of all ages and skill levels. He has benefited from excellent voice and guitar instructors and has worked for California Music Studios in San Diego, California. Jason has written and recorded a number of original and alternative songs and he knows many popular songs and the newest contemporary, rock, worship, and alternative licks.
Sarah Anderson has been teaching all forms of dance for 11 years. She has been in a number of production companies such as "Ta-Da Productions" and performed at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. She has been a part of Ballroom competition teams and was the choreographer for SpotLight Theatre. She is now involved in a number of dance ministries through her church teaching students of all ages.
Lisa Smith is excited to be teaching Wiggles this spring session! She has been teaching and directing musical theater for 13 years as the co-director of King's Kids Musical Theater and Touring Group based out of Mission Valley Christian Fellowship. Lisa has worked with children from 4 years of age to High School teens. Lisa has also taught Our Gang classes for the La Mesa CYT area for the past 2 sessions.
